Skagit Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Club - An Anacortes HAM Radio Club
Located in Anacortes, WA and serving Skagit County to perform a public service in providing emergency communications to the community and surrounding region, in aid of public safety, disaster preparedness and relief. SARECC partners with police, fire, hospitals, operations centers, and community service organizations to provide equipment and trained operators capable to serve in the event of an emergency.
Whether you want to improve your HAM radio skills for your own preparedness, or use your license to serve our community, we are always looking for volunteers. You can start to get involved during our daily net or visit our emergency nets held weekly. See our events page for specific information. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you.
We perform weekly equipment tests, service and upgrades to maintain and improve emergency response communications capabilities. We also operate and maintain repeaters to assist in area voice and digital communications. If you are interested in becoming a HAM, we provide training and testing of operators from entry level (Technician) to expert (Extra).
